10 Ways to Know When God Tells You Who Your Husband Is

#1 Your future husband’s character – Fruits of their tree

When God tells you who your husband is, one of the first signs you will notice is the character of your future spouse. Jesus has said, “You shall know them by their fruits.” Take a close look at the actions and behavior of the person you are considering as a potential partner. Do they display kindness, patience, and love towards others? Are they honest and trustworthy? These are all qualities that reflect a person’s character and can give you a glimpse into their true nature.

#2 God’s word is their moral compass

Another way to know if God has revealed your future husband is by examining their relationship with God’s word. A man who seeks guidance from the Bible and follows its teachings is more likely to be a good partner for you. The Word of God serves as a moral compass, guiding us in our daily lives. If your potential husband respects and cherishes the teachings of the Bible, it is a strong indication that he is someone God has chosen for you.

#3 Your Holy Spirit Confirms it – Not your lust

When God tells you who your husband is, the Holy Spirit will confirm it in your heart. It is important to differentiate between the voice of God and the voice of your own desires. Lust and infatuation can often fuel our own desires, leading us astray. However, the Holy Spirit works in a different way. It brings peace, clarity, and confirmation. Pay attention to the prompting of the Holy Spirit within you. If you feel a deep sense of peace and assurance when thinking about your potential husband, it could be a sign that God is speaking to you.

#4 The right potential husband will respect abstinence

One of the ways to discern if God has spoken to you about your future husband is by observing how he respects abstinence. God’s plan for marriage involves waiting until the sacred union to engage in physical intimacy. If your potential husband respects this and encourages purity in your relationship, it is a strong indication that he is in alignment with God’s desires for you. A man who honors and values abstinence is more likely to have a deep respect for you as a person and for the sanctity of marriage.

#5 True love will be patient – Corinthians

When God reveals your future husband to you, true love will be patient. Love, as described in 1 Corinthians 13, is patient and kind. It does not envy or boast. It is not proud or rude. Love is not easily angered and keeps no record of wrongs. Take time to observe if your potential partner displays these qualities. Are they patient with you and others? Do they show kindness and understanding? True love takes time to grow and develop, and a patient partner is a valuable asset in building a strong and lasting relationship.

  1. I am so happy that I Google for an article about my husband to be. It’s been over a year since we met. Even though we have had a long-distance relationship for over a year, I’m going to be his future wife in about two weeks, and I can’t wait. After a while that we were chatting, it was like a light bulb 💡 hit my head. I had forgotten completely about praying for a certain kind of man if I were to meet him. And I did finally after years that I prayed, I found my best friend, and soul mate. Everything that I read here is so very true about him that I’m in Awe !!
God deserves all the praise and glory for bringing him into my path.

  2. Such a great article! I feel my partner is all of these things, and I feel such peace when I’m with him. Yet, I have had anxiety about marriage though. Does that mean something is wrong, or does it mean I’m struggling to trust God’s invitation to step into faith through his provision? I’m curious what your thoughts are. Is it unusual to be fearful, and if you’re with the right person you don’t have fear, only peace?

But, to give you an answer now…

I understand that you are anxious. That’s normal. I would say, it does sound like you are looking for full certainty. Would that be a fair statement? Sometimes are anxiety has nothing to do with our spouse. Sometimes it does. Sometimes our anxiety has more to do with us and our past. Our us and our unrealistic expectations. Is he God-fearing? Meaning, Does he seek to make God his spiritual compass in all areas in his life, to the best of his ability? Does he seek to love you like Jesus loved the church? Are you being the Proverbs 31 woman to the best of your ability? If that is the case…then step into the unknown and keep Jesus at the center.
